This week ECHG writer Adam Holtzapfel takes a look at the 2012 film Creep Van.
I stumbled across this film when my wife and I were browsing a sale at our local video store and she decided to purchase it. I had very low expectations going into it including making fun of the title with quips of what’s the sequel called, Soccer Mom Van? To say I was pleasantly surprised by this film would be an understatement.
The film follows the story of Campbell (Brian Kolodziej) a down on his luck car wash employee in Detroit and his hunt for a car.
While at his job we’re introduced to characters like Amy (the woman of his dreams), Mr. Kaufman (his boss), Swami Ted (the con man), and Lloyd Kaufman as a disgruntled customer.
Campbell tires of riding the bus and it making him late to work that he calls about a 1970’s style van for sale. Once the owner calls him back he says he’s not interested, yet the owner insists on hounding him for money for the van. In between all of this we see some great death scenes, the cops on the hunt for the killer, and what makes Swami Ted a con man.
While the film is full of bad acting, it’s still a fun watch. Full of inventive death scenes, nudity, missing drugs, and more makes it a ride for the audience to enjoy. Visually the film looks good, has great fx, and sound.
This is the perfect film for those nights you can’t decide on what to watch make it a double feature with Blood Car for a night of goofy plot driven horror films.

Adam Holtzapfel is the face behind Reviews From The Crypt and Interviews From The Crypt. Growing up in the 80s on a steady diet of VHS horror, he has maintained a love of the genre since. Loving almost everything from the good, the bad, and the weird he now searches the deepest realm of the Roku to press play on any film he hasn’t watched a million times.
